My Memorable Building Manager Experience

iamk

This was my experience as a building manager about a year ago, and it's kind of the most memorable and frightening time I've ever had.

The building is near the university and is mainly for college students, but a few commuters commute to work nearby

I was working and studying, and I happened to see a posting for a manager in the building, so I applied.

Was doing nothing for 6 months until something happened during summer vacation...

————————————————————

It was around the beginning of August, and since many students had gone home, the whole building was deserted.

I routinely do my patrols and then go back to the surveillance room to do my own thing

The time came after 10:00 p.m., and I was at my desk typing a report on my pen drive.

Let's start with the space configuration on the first floor of our building.

The lobby is usually where people go in and out, and the one to the left of the surveillance room is the hallway to our main rooms on the first floor.

There is a glass between the hall and the surveillance room, it is dark, but you can still see some people in the front hall through the glass.

I was typing a report on my laptop and noticed through the camera that there was a man standing in the lobby on the first floor, not knowing what he was doing.

modal particle indicating that sth. is obvious

"Maybe he's waiting for a friend!"

Without much thought, I'll just keep typing my report

By the time the report was typed, almost half an hour had passed by when I counted the time, and when I turned off the penlight and was about to go to bed, I noticed that

The man is still in the picture, and he's still standing.

While wondering what the hell this guy was doing and whether I should go outside to take a look, I suddenly noticed something weird.

It's just that when you look out through the glass of the surveillance room, the lobby is empty.

"That guy on the screen?"

As I thought this, the figure in the hall moved, his head lifting and turning to the camera's side

It was the pale face, and one eye was a dark patch, like a pit left by the gouging out of an eyeball

There's no nose, the nose side is flat, and the mouth is a black line.

Simply put, the whole thing looks like a 2D drawing of a character

He just looked at the camera for a few seconds before his mouth started to smile, then it went from a smile to a gaping mouth like a crack girl's

It's almost at the temples.

I stood still in shock, and then the man turned his head to look at the glass window of the surveillance room and walked towards me.

At this point, I'm looking through the glass of the surveillance room, and I still don't see anyone.

The figure on the screen began to slap the glass of the surveillance room with great force, while the glass of the surveillance room shook wildly

I was so scared that I curled up in the back and took out my cell phone in a panic to dial the homeowner. As soon as the owner received my call, he calmed me down.

He told me that he would be there in 15 minutes at the latest, and asked me to hold on to the peace talisman in the drawer of the surveillance room and not to leave the surveillance room.

I'll hang up as soon as I'm done.

I grabbed the peace sign and kept shrinking it, while continuing to watch the screen.

The man stopped in the middle of the shot and walked out the door to the hall.

"That was close..."

I was paralyzed in place, wiping tears from my eyes as I was about to return to my seat. I saw the figure take a few steps and then move in a near-instantaneous manner.

At the same time, he moved to the door of the surveillance room as if he were a puppet being manipulated, and began to turn the door handle repeatedly.

But he can't turn the door handle because the building's access control is by magnetic card.

Hiding inside, I knew this but was still scared, so I approached the door to help fasten the other locks on the door.

"Hurry up and let me in."

A low male voice came from outside, followed by continuous laughter, I couldn't tell if it was a man or a woman, and I cursed in direct shock.

Words, start moving anything large in the surveillance room to block behind the door

It lasted about a minute or so, the door didn't turn, and the man walked out into the hall without looking back, and never came back.

The homeowner will be here in a few minutes.

He calmed me down after I burst into tears, and then he showed me the monitor footage.

During those five terrifying minutes earlier, the monitor didn't show the figure I saw, but it did capture the surveillance room

The glass has a constant flickering (because of the vibration), and there is a slight wobble in the door handle

The owner told me that this was the first time he had encountered such a situation, and when he asked the seniors who worked the same shift, they also said that they had never encountered such a situation before.

things (some stayed for 2 years)

Despite that, I quit after that week and the homeowner didn't give me a hard time about it

He had a priest look at him afterward, but I'm not sure what happened.

To this day I'm still terrified of that memory, and it's caused me to have trouble repressing it when I'm alone in a confined space now

of anxiety ....

——————————————————————–

Sorry things have been a bit hectic and I've only now had time to read the tweets

Organize everyone's questions

Basically that's it for this post, no follow up. Since I've since changed schools and haven't asked my landlord about that room again

affair

Not recording it was purely a matter of being dumbfounded and not thinking about

And it didn't really take too long, so by the time he remembered to record, he was actually gone

I was crying when I talked to the owner of the house.

The owner just told me to calm down, told me where to put the talisman, then said something (I forgot) and said he would come by bike.

And then I hung up.

This is what I remember so far, and the location is not here in Tainan.
